Jurgita Leistrumaite is Ryde Chorus’s Musical Director. She comes from Lithuania, where she studied music as a speciality from the age of 7. She graduated from the renowned Lithuanian Academy of Music in Vilnius in 1999 with a Masters degree, with distinctions in conducting and singing. During her studies she also went to Italy and Denmark to learn and perform. After coming to the United Kingdom she has continued further music studies in Musicology.

Jurgita lives on the Isle of Wight, and conducts a number of different choirs on the Island.
