Originally from Leicester, Lawrence studied piano and organ at the Royal Academy of Music. He then spent many years entertaining on cruise ships. His repertoire covers all types of music – classical, jazz, swing, big band and musicals. Although predominantly an accompanist, Lawrence is also an accomplished solo performer. Since moving to the Isle of Wight, Lawrence has played for shows at the Apollo Theatre in Newport and the theatres in Shanklin.

At present Lawrence is the organist at St Blasius Church in Shanklin and rehearsal pianist for Ryde Chorus. In addition, he has accompanied Ryde Chorus on the organ or piano for many of the choir’s concerts.
